DSC05613 (2)Weston Beach

We are about 200m away from the idyllic Weston Beach, where a small catamaran (pictured right) can be hired for hourly trips, with an islander named Colin, for fishing and/or sailing.

There is also a local fish market.

In the close vicinity, there is John Moore’s Bar, a local rumshack, reputed to be the best on the island. Sometimes they cook and sell locally-caught fish. Opposite is another bar which offers the best pork chops on the island on Fridays only.

Fishing

If fishing is more your thing, you’re spoilt for choice.

You can go trolling on a 42ft Sports Fisherman, equipped with modern electronic navigational equipment, custom built fishing rods and Pen International gold reels, fishing for Marlin, Tuna, Sailfish, Wahoo or Dorado .

Alternatively, go out for the day with a local fisherman (Vernon) in his boat and catch Tuna on a traditional handline. I can promise, catching a 15lb Tuna this way beats anything AND you get to keep the fish!

Just 1km south of the apartment on ‘Alleynes Bay’, you can swim with turtles which grow up to 4ft in diameter.

Magical and highly recommended!

 Golf

This is a wonderful way to get to play the Barbados Golf Club, Sandy Lane Country Club, Royal Westmoreland and the Apes Hill Club.

 Dining Out

Next door is the more rustic Ju-Jus, a lovely beach bar and grill. They also celebrate significant dates (such as Bob Marley’s birthday) with a barbecue, not to be missed.
